Brief Description:Billericay Police Station was converted by CG Interiors to conform to the Disability Discrimination Act. We removed the existing ramp, front entrance steps, entrance doors and public counter. We converted the existing office, formed a new disabled toilet facility along with other internal office alterations to assist disabled persons accessibility. The front entrance was widened to receive wheelchairs through a power assisted door. We also installed a low level counter and access ramp. All works had to be undertaken without changing the aesthetic appearance of this listed building.
Design & Innovation: CG assisted in the design of the toilets and reception to make the best use of space.
The majority of products were specified but there was an element of design development with the external areas and new ramp. The old entrance door and frame from this listed building was replicated with a purpose made hardwood door and frame but integrating new DDA access controls. Client: Essex Police
