| Thurrock Decent Homes |
|
Brief Description: CG successfully tendered this project in 2005 and have developed a partnership with Thurrock Council’s Team over the last 4 years.
We have been able to provide a high standard of service over this period and have just renegotiated a further 2 year extension due to the success of the service we have offered. The works consist mainly of Decent Home improvements but have capacity for voids and public sector works such as schools to be introduced. Design & Innovation: As Principal Partner on the framework we have assisted Thurrock with supply chain integration and management, development of improved life cycle maintenance on products, improved service charters from suppliers, reduced time spent within homes during the works by improving technology, local job creation, local employment and improved communication with both residents and Thurrock Council.
In addition we have developed an open book approach which reflects a true partnership from both angles. Client: Thurrock Council
Client Contact: Kevin Redman Consultant: N/A Project: Framework agreement for Decent Homes, voids and associated works. Contract Duration: 4 years with optional 2 year extension Contract Sum: £1.4 million per annum The Programme: The programme of works commenced in October 2005 with a small amount of expenditure being released for this framework.
In April 2006 a larger budget was released to facilitate the Government Targets for Decency and the partnership really began to develop. We have been advised that Thurrock is on target for the decency targets and the partnership continues to flourish. What Our Clients Say: We have received a stream of thank you letters from residents and Thurrock Council Team members. The one that we feel truly reflects the partnership was issued by the manager of a local warden controlled retirement home where we successfully upgraded the whole facility in occupation.
"We wish to thank Thurrock Council and CG for the immense effort and consideration during the recent Decent Homes works. All the residents are over the moon with their new homes"- Adelaide House- Senior Warden |
