Project Name

CG Interiors were originally commissioned to carry out the soft strip demolitions and builders work on the existing building. Additional work packages included: - roofing, flooring, new internal block work walls, suspended ceilings, plastering, painting and decorating, structural openings for a new lift installation and new services including the renewal of major plant on the roof were also undertaken.

This project was to construct an extension to the school to allow for the installation of a new lift. The scope included construction of a new entrance ramp and canopy, alterations to the ground, first and second floor classrooms and refurbishment of existing toilet facilities.

Billericay Police Station

Project Name

Billericay Police Station was converted by CG Interiors to conform to the Disability Discrimination Act. We removed the existing ramp, front entrance steps, entrance doors and public counter. We converted the existing office, formed a new disabled toilet facility along with other internal office alterations to assist disabled persons accessibility.

Brief Description:The works consisted of the removal of asbestos insulation board used as lining around the lift shaft over 9 floors.  Hoarding’s were erected around the lift shaft on all floors and was constructed to allow and maintain access on the staircase. The building was fully functional whilst carrying out the asbestos removal. Internally the lift shaft was fitted with close boarded scaffolding on all levels which gave a safe working platform.

Brief Description: In phased works over a 12 week period and with the University fully operational the removal of the asbestos insulation board ceiling tiles in corridors, science labs, offices, stairwells and external asbestos cement window infill panels was carried out without disruption to pupils or staff. As part of the project we had to redirect fire evacuation procedures in the corridors we were working in.

Prior and in conjunction with the asbestos removal our sister company CG Interiors completed the soft strip removal to all the above areas which assisted with the asbestos works and provided a one stop shop for our client which helped in programming and liaison.

Brief Description: In conjunction with a major refurbishment project and within a tight programme we removed in various locations asbestos insulation board ceiling tiles, asbestos pipe insulation, AIB from the external mullions which also included a complex scaffolding around the perimeter of the building.

All works were carried out in phased areas to allow the continuity of the refurbishment to be completed whilst the removal works were being completed.

Works: Decontamination of 3 No boiler rooms

Brief Description: The works consisted of the removal of the asbestos insulation to the pipe services and the asbestos insulation board to the ceiling of the boiler rooms.

The works within the boiler rooms were completed with the Campus fully functional, connecting tunnels from the work areas to the decontamination units. Hoardings were constructed around the entire DCU/ Tunnel to prevent any unauthorised entry and provide a direct route for hygiene and restrict access to external areas.
